AIMS OF THE COURSE/PROGRAMME

The aim of the course is to provide training and knowledge in the safe and efficient operation of a rough terrain vehicle with a boom over 9m. (ITSSAR Cat J3)

This course meets the statutory requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, and other relevant statutory provisions.

PROGRAMME
The course is spent on developing skills and knowledge associated with this type of machine.

Practical

Introduction to the Machine
Control Familiarisation
Daily Checks/Refuelling/Simple Maintenance
Steering and Drive Modes
Steering Procedures, ( Un-laden and Laden)
Load Weight Assessment
Load Handling
Use of Stabilisers (where applicable)
Stacking and De-stacking Procedures
Vehicle Loading/ Unloading
Fitting and use of Attachments
Practical Skills Test (based on Forum 2000 recommendations)

1. Notebook and pen
2. Appropriate safety wear.
All other materials are provided on the course

1 Day conversion course Under 9m to over 9m for £175 per candidate

We will do a conversion of under 9m boom certificate to over 9m boom at our training facility in Northampton. To qualify you must have a current certificate for the classification J2 and it must have been taken with in the last 5 years. It can be from any of the accrediting body's but must be presented a minimum of 5 days before the start of the course.

SITE SAFETY AWARENESS CARDS & other related cards
Construction sites may require you to hold a "Site Safety Awareness" card before you can access the construction site and use your new certification. These cards are administered through the CITB training organisation. The CITB organisation like ours is one of the 5 main accrediting bodies as referred to in the "Approver Code of Practice" And as such in principal have HSE approval.
