On Site Training
How it Works

If you have never used an on-site trainer then you are right to think about what it means. How are the standards kept up? How can this be the same training standards as a dedicated training school? What are the advantages of selecting this type of training.? What are the disadvantages of selecting this type of training.? What if my trainee is not up to the training? How is the overall cost worked out? What dose my company have to provide? How long is the training? Will I get any back up from the training provider?

How are the standards kept up?
There are 6 accrediting body's in the lift truck world. They all achieve a standard recognised and backed by the HSE.  They are  AITT... ITSSAR ... RTITB ..... CITB.... LANTRA ... National Plant..        We are ITSSAR registered.    Further details

How can this be the same training standards as a dedicated training school?
Because the same standard exercises, course manuals, and training program is used.

What are the advantages of selecting this type of training.?
It is on your premises. Fits in with there work pattern. It is the forklift that they will use to carry out your job. They will be familiar with your safety systems.

What are the disadvantages of selecting this type of training.?
The truck must be available most of the time. Some candidates feel intimidated at learning in front of there fellow workers. If training out side then the weather may affect the course.

What if my trainee is not up to the training?
You must asses your candidate carefully. Only you know your workforce and there is no guaranteed passes. But in general the consideration should be. Dexterity, mental approach, ability to handle machinery, age. We will of course asses candidates from first meeting but if they are not up to it then you will be told and the candidate advised accordingly. Most candidates who get to this stage pass.

How is the overall cost worked out?
Most training providers charge a daily rate for basic training. There may or may not be hidden costs. Instructor millage... B&B... production of certificates ...... costs to register operators certificates on various central registers.

What will my company have to provide?
A quite safe aria to practice with the forklift. A quite warm room with a electric supply.  Further details

How long is the training?
There are guide lines for each specific course.

Will I get any back up from the training provider?
