AIMS OF THE COURSE/PROGRAMME

The aim of the course is to provide training and knowledge in the safe and efficient operation of a rough terrain masted lift truck. (BITTA Cat J1)

This course meets the statutory requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, and other relevant statutory provisions.

PROGRAMME
The course is spent on developing skills and knowledge associated with this type of machine.

Operating Safety Code & Site Safely Rules
Film "The Correct ,Approach"& "Site Safety" 
Multi Choice Theory Test

Practical

Introduction to the Machine
Control Familiarisation
Daily Checks/Refuelling/Simple Maintenance
Steering and Drive Modes
Steering Procedures, ( Un-laden and Laden)
Load Weight Assessment
Load Handling
Stacking and De-stacking Procedures
Vehicle Loading/ Unloading
Practical Skills Test (based on Forum 2000 recommendations)

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

1. Notebook and pen
2. Appropriate safety wear.
All other materials are provided on the course

SITE SAFETY AWARENESS CARDS
Construction sites may require you to hold a "Site Safety Awareness" card before you can access the construction site and use your new certification. These cards are administered through the CITB training organisation. The CITB organisation like ours is one of the 5 main accrediting bodies as referred to in the "Approver Code of Practice"  And as such in principal have HSE approval.
